Mind-wandering and flow are two states of consciousness that are particularly accessible for some individuals during aerobic exercise. These states are also at the center of recent research on the neural processes that underpin creative thinking. As a team of artists and athletes, we began to wonder whether a fitness app could nurture creativity.
Most training tools today focus on the metrics behind each activity – numbers like pace, distance, or heart rate. But what if there was an app for the mental aspects of movement? A space to foster inspiration and present awareness through exercise?
By connecting your training inputs in new ways, Source helps you to better understand and control your mind in motion. We hope this suite of tools will enrich your movement practice and extend cognitive benefits into the rest of your day.

Our AI-powered reflection engine gives a series of basic prompts to better understand your mood and thought process during each session. Quickly document any ideas that may have emerged.
Over time, Source synthesizes those post-activity notes with your fitness data and listening history to build a mental model of your movement practice. Identify patterns of thinking within your training inputs.
The point is not to analyze your physical performance – plenty of excellent fitness apps already do that. Source exists to augment these pre-existing tools with a new training modality for the mind.
